BDI Certifications
The BDI Program increases the opportunities of MWBE firms by providing technical assistance with certifications. We encourage firms that are interested in doing business with Mecklenburg County to review eligibility requirements with the respective agencies below.
Eligibility Requirements
Businesses must be 51% owned and operated by a minority, woman, or small business owner and certified through one of the following programs:

Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB)
Established to promote the economic opportunities for historically underutilized businesses in State Government contracting and procurement that will foster their growth and profitability.

NCDOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program
A legislatively mandated program run by the U.S. Department of Transportation to ensure disadvantaged businesses have the opportunity to do business with the N.C. Department of Transportation.

City of Charlotte MWSBE Certification
The Charlotte Business INClusion program seeks to enhance competition and participation of Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprises through its business certification program.
