Join Mecklenburg County for a FREE, hands-on, résumé and job application workshop in the Community Room at Valerie C. Woodard Community Resource Center (Entrance A) on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2025, from 5-8 p.m.

Registration is required for this free training. Workshop attendees will be introduced to the advanced manufacturing, construction, and facilities maintenance management industries, as well as entry-level and mid-career jobs in those industries. The workshop will prepare job seekers for the Mecklenburg County Career Expo on Feb. 25, 2025, at the Harris Conference Center at Central Piedmont Community College's Harris Campus. Workshop attendees may gain priority access to employers at the Career Expo. may gain priority access to employers at the Career Expo.  

Workshop attendees also will learn about:  

  • Résumé building
  • Soft skills: interviewing, communication, teamwork, problem solving, time management and work ethic
  • Employment resources for justice-involved individuals
  • Services in the Mecklenburg County area that can help job seekers find employment  

Spanish-speaking coordinators will be available to assist workshop attendees as needed. Free parking will be available, and refreshments will be provided. Another workshop will be held on Feb. 11; attendees need only attend one workshop.
