Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte host the annual Crowns of Enterprise Awards to recognize and honor minority-owned, women-owned and small business enterprises (MWSBEs) that demonstrate exemplary leadership and sound business strategies.

The awards strive to acknowledge and display the hard work and resiliency of local small businesses and individuals, illustrating the positive footprint, diversity and inclusion efforts, and economic impact they have on the community. The program nurtures relationships between businesses, officials and government agencies.

The nominations are in and winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on May 9. During the ceremony, outstanding business in each of the following categories will be honored:

  • Certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) of the Year
  • Certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE) of the Year
  • Certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE) of the Year
  • Prime Contractor of the Year
  • Diversity Advocate of the Year
  • Media Personality/Media Outlet of the Year
